Minister Robes

Many people in the church denomination do support the wearing of minister robes. However, there are several people that also object to the idea of having one.

Why Wear Minister Robes

Some might think that the reasons they have for opposing the robes are subjective, nevertheless, there are several common factors. For example, some say that this tradition echoes Roman Catholicism too much.

As you can see, there are also born-again denominations that make use of minister robes or even churches that are not associated with the Catholic religion. There are people in other denominations that are fond of the idea that they are wearing the same thing as the Catholics, especially since they have struggled long and hard to move away under the Catholic wing.

Another common reason that these people cite is that the robes make the minister look unapproachable. The truth is that the robe actually does the opposite; a minister wearing a robe in fact, makes him more approachable and distinguishable.

The robes function to highlight the position the minister has under the Lord's office. Just standing out from the crowd makes him more approachable since people know who to speak with.

One proof of how important an outward wardrobe is and how helpful it can be is the way doctors and nurses wear wardrobes to distinguish their position. People can easily know what they do and approach them for proper advice knowing that they can help.

Having a minister wear minister robes is an essential tradition for the church and adds a lot of important elements to the faith.

Checkout these Christian Bulletins, they might also be helpful for church announcements.
